I'm leery of drafting Colorado pitchers in general and think that Jiminez went a little high. I'm amazed, though, that Jeff didn't protect a Cardinal starter, especially the Redbirds' nominal ace in Wainwright. I thought the selection of Meloan in the 10th round was brilliant.

I also think that you took more starting pitchers than most owners, and this is testimony to the fact that the SP pool for our league is weaker than it's ever been. Look at all the so-so relief types who don't project to have long careers who went early in our draft.

Chris Coghlan? An unknown to me on Draft Day.

Chris Coghlan really? Look him up. He was in the Future's Game and will move Dan Uggla to 3B by season's end if Coghlan gets off to a quick start. He has a lefty bat in the same mold of Utley. He was drafted as a thirdbasemen from University of Mississippi. I think he will end up more like a more consistent version of Kelly Johnson.

Good job pulling back Johhny lol. I was going to pick him off your team for depth. Intresting with the pickup of Wainwright. I don't know if he is going to be a front line starter; maybe a #4 or #5... I still think his future is in the pen.

And are you doing just draft reviews or team reviews, cause after reading mine and others, it seems more like you reviewed my team more than my draft picks...!!! Hmm... I wonder why? My draft selections:

1. RHP Joba Chamberlain
2. RHP Joakim Soria
3. C Matt Wieters
4. RHP Rich Harden
5. RHP Jensen Lewis
6. OF Fernando Martinez
7. RHP Yorman Bazardo
8. RHP Francisco Cordero
9. RHP Nick Blackburn

Funny how you only mentioned Chamberlin and Harden and nobody else. Really, I think after viewing STRICTLY my draft list, and because you are doing draft reviews (hmmm....), I think I got at least a B.

You are absolutely right Ronald. Weiters and Martinez were great picks. Martinez I think is a bit overrated, but a good pick in round 6. Weiters will be your catcher of the future if the 6'5" switch hitter can stay behind the plate. Soria is a player that gets people out (Billy Beane strategy) but I seriously doubt his numbers translate into BARB. As for the rest they were ok picks, but more for depth. Francisco Cordero is a very expensive pick that no owner will pick up if you try to unload. He might/ probably will be in store for a rough year in the Great American Smallpark! With the picks of Cordero, and Harden, loss of Jose Reyes for Chamberlain, Martinez and Weiters, I think my calculatio is correct. There were better players out there when you drafted some that you did.

has RHP M. Owings been dropped by the MOABS, cause he doesn't appear on the rosters Mr. Hatfield sent out...

Micah Owings and Rafael Betancourt have NOT been dropped, they are members and the league office has been notified that they were left off the rosters. Thanks for the clarification

Wainwright just gave up 4 earnies to the Giants. I'm sorry.

Well did you see the grounder up the middle hit the bag and cause nothing but problems for the Cards. He looked good for six though. That start hurts against the crappy Giants. His hard luck continued in SF as his first start was rained out as he was shutting down the Rockies.
